Lithuania Tourist Attractions

Lithuania is the fastest growing tourist destination in Europe. Summer is the best season to visit the Lithuanian cities and experience the beauty of beach life of Lithuanian seaside. Vilnius is one of the main Lithuanian tourist attractions. Gediminas Castle and Cathedral Square are prime sights of the city. The city is also a prime centre of historical museums and galleries. Similarly, Vilnius is offering balance between trendiness and historical legacy and everyone should have faith upon the administration as the city is targeted to be the capital city of European culture. The great Myth attached with Palanga may attract various tourists. Kaunas is the second-largest city in Lithuania, located inland at the confluence of the country's two main rivers (the Neris and the Nemunas). Kaunas has a population of approximately 355,000 as of 2008, and unlike the capital city of Vilnius, a full 93% of the residents of Kaunas are native Lithuanians, as compared with 58% in Vilnius.

Kaunas is the industrial center of Lithuania -- after World War II it produced about a quarter of the industrial output of Lithuania. The center of the city is defined by two pedestrian streets. The largest Gothic building in Lithuania is the late Baroque style Kaunas Cathedral Basilica.

Not many people visit Lithuania and it remains to be an undiscovered holiday destination. Lithuanian people usually can speak Russian and ~35%, especially younger people all speak English. There are several places that should be visited in the country: Curonian Spit, Labanoras regional park, The Park of Europe, Trakai Medieval Castle, Folk life museum(Rumsiskes), Grutas park, Devils museum, The Great War Museum. Countryside tourism is very popular in Lithuania. You will find Lithuanian countryside cottages (usually modern houses built in villages, near lakes or rivers, with country life tunes) everywhere, prices vary from 10EUR to 100EUR per person. You can easily rent a car in all major cities - Kaunas, Vilnius, Klaipeda.
